quick rundown of summer
wine tasting, parties, galleries, photoshoots, beach, etc etc
um, how the hell do i do quotation marks on a japanese keyboard to make a proper lj-cut?!?
wine tasting in ashikaga, tochigi prefecture
i had like 8 glasses of red wine, white wine, and champagne... we even had a bottle of year 2000 aubod(e?) the winery is actually a school for mentally disabled kids and they work outside at the winery for income and get to live there. i actually felt a little jealous...!! what a fine education! the woman who owns the winry was the most amazing woman ever. we were talking about casinos and amusement parks, and when asked what she thought was the funnest thing she could think of, she replied, `well, LOVE and ROMANCE of course!!!`
the crew chillin at the winery. we sat drinking and eating for 6 hours. i think i gained like 3 kilos.
meeting up with old friends
i hadnt seen tak in like almost a year. this was the night of the azabu juban festival so i couldnt stay and chill with him and chalo long, but we stopped for a drink at the dubliners pub in shinjuku. i also met up with akira and hiro (!! who ran off to canada, seattle, and chile for a year and a half!) at chalos bday party. it was nice to see these guys from my first year here in tokyo. brought back silly memories!

oh god, i cant even remember them all... but since zan-dawg was overseas for so long, and i was actually working, i didnt get to so many.
diesel (which got me in a ton of mags with liv... i think i look pretty rockin!)
there was also garcia marquez, dazed and confused, skyy vodka, masquerade, tokyo nite, martin margiela, organ bar, MUSeUM, topshop, and lots of dinners and drinking with new friends (and usually in shimokitazawa)
the beach!
i actually made it to the beach! gen and i took a saturday and went down to katase-enoshima on the odakyu line to check out a little party my friend was giving. it was raining in tokyo so i was worried but it was perfectly clear down there...and not many people as well. the beach was dirty as hell and i didnt even want to think of the water. i think i went in to my ankles.
we had dinner at this bad little italian place and then went back to the tommy hilfiger beach house only to be kicked out of the sofa we were sitting at...it pissed gen off so he told the manager to get us some champagne and they brought us out the two biggest fucking glasses of champagne i had ever seen. i think i got drunk that day! was just glad to make it to the ocean. it was the first time in YEARS.
i got bored around the beginning of august so i joined a gym. i went like 5 times a week. i didnt go last week at all due to work, but ive gone the past two days and i plan on going again tomorrow and the day after, and the day after.... i tend to stick to the step machine and the weight machines, since i nearly drowned when i tried to swim. how embarassing!! it has been like 8 years since i actually swam. i have this horrible fear of swimsuits and my thighs. but i MUST get in shape since im going to cabo next spring! I WILL BE FIT

i did three test shoots this summer... this is one...my favorite...the pics are unedited and a little dark. we had some trouble (like the security threatening to call the police on us) but in the end it was fine.
a new job!
although just temporary.
i was asked by my dear friend yuko who is director of the brand banana fish. she decided to open a new concept shop in shimokitazawa centered around cat goods and created `pink cat`. she asked *me* if i would illustrate the walls of the shop!! i agreed immediately and set out to do something chic, but was foiled when the told me to do lots and lots of different cats. im thinking what the hell...cats arents chic!! but i reluctantly agreed, and what i thought would take three days ended up being 10 -13 hours a day and came up with this (this is just a little bit)
its like a personal permanent gallery! she loves some of the drawings so much she wants to put them on tshirts...and even open a second store!! at the super small reception we had on saturday on the day before the store opened, even the head editor of kera came (who is actually a very stylish older man in glasses) . very excting indeed!
and my summer came to an end. been in school for a week. its a fucking breeze and i feel like im stomping over everybody (sorry). see y`all next moon!
